New book at Kebele Library worth a read

A wonderful book has been donated.  It’s written from the viewpoint of a Jewish child in Germany, and fleeing to England with her parents. It’s beautifully written and very moving. Strongly recommend borrowing it.
We put it in the anti-fascist section, not sure that was the best place for it!
It is called The Nazis – Through the Eyes of a Child, by Margarete Mendelsohn.

LibraryThing

Have you seen http://www.librarything.com ?

It is a great way to keep your very own library catalogue, of the books you own, have read, or want to read

I’m finding it handy to keep track of books I like- it saves me having to keep lists on my computer

I really recommend it

John Pilger

Hi

I’ve been really enjoying John Pilger’s website, http://www.johnpilger.com

The documentaries he has made since the 1970s are fantastic- I’ve learnt so much recently from them

The Articles section of the website is great, too. Each article I read gives me a fresh and inspiring view of the issue.

And the Links page also gives me plenty of trusted web sites to go to, where I know I’ll see radical, progressive groups.

I’m looking forward to seeing John Pilger talk at Stop The War’s Media Conference in London on November 13th. Places still available

Gaza – Beneath the Bombs, Sharyn Lock with Sarah Irving

Very moving and real account of Gaza. Very worth reading – more about people than numbers. Very informative. Worth a read. Find itin the anti-military section of the library.
